Ahem, well, you could try this our Encyclopedia of Animals, published in the States and Canada by University of California Press (ISBN 0-520-24406-0), available via Amazon and very reasonably priced considering it nearly killed us to produce it!!!

I adore my satellite (correct speeling…I hope) radio. I can’t life without it. I am so tired of commercials.

Have fun in the new vehicle…we are getting our old 1996 Sentra back on the road to use on the weekends. It gets arougd 30mpg and, considering the current gas prices, if we can double our milage…we are happy!

I agree. How about a large atlas? Photographic, with information about populations and crops and natural history too?

Sorry to hear your association might end with this school - with all your experience and knowledge, isn’t there a sort of parent’s alumni association?

I was thinking of a book as well. Do you have any titles to suggest? I saw a National Geographic Animal Encyclopedia on amazon.ca … it’s hard to tell what it’s like unless you can actuallly see the book.

I’d buy a really big book, full of amazing pictures of animals from all over the world - Aardvarks to Pangolins, Platypuses to Angel Sharks. Something to really get young imaginations going

but then, I work in book publishing, so I’m probably biased!

You guys are great!!! Those are wonderful suggestions and just make me even more excited for him!

I don’t think I want to go as a chaperone - this will be a sort of grown-up thing for him to do that he can do all on his own. I think just the whole idea of it has changed him a bit - he’s holding himself a little higher, you know what I mean?

I’ll just have to come to England myself some day. Like I’ve said before, I’d love to be Bridget Jones for a week. I would do ALL of the things Truce suggested. Plus a lot of shopping!
